Wren Awry is a writer, educator and kitchen witch. They’ve worked as a line cook, food writer, on environmental direct action campaigns, and as a humanitarian aid volunteer. Currently, Wren works in the Education Department at the University of Arizona Poetry Center; developing, supporting, and implementing creative writing programs for K-12 students.
Wren lives in a tiny and admittedly messy Tucson apartment with a talkative blue tabby and a science-brained partner. They really love making homemade ice cream and really hate capitalism.
Wren’s writing has been published in various venues, including Entropy, Essay Daily, Rust + Moth, and Ghost City Press. They’re currently at work on an interview project about food in cultures of resistance.
